British thermal units (BTU), a fundamental indication for calculating thermal energy in residential and commercial buildings, are precisely measured by electromagnetic BTU meters. The thermal energy used by chilled water is measured in BTUs. BTU meters are often used for HVAC, heating, chilled water systems, and other applications in commercial, industrial, and office buildings.
Principle Electromagnetic BTU meter
Principle of operation of the electromagnetic BTU meter (Heat meter): Heat exchange occurs when hot (cold) water from a heat source flows into a system (heat exchanger, radiator, or complex system made up of them) at a high (low) temperature. Heat is then released or absorbed by the user through heat exchange (note: this process includes energy exchange between heating system and cooling system).When water flows through the heat exchange system, the system heat release or absorption is shown based on the flow sensor’s readings and the temperature of the sensor, which matches the temperature of the return water. The system heat release or absorption is also calculated over time using a calculator.
