Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction serves as the foundation for insertion type electromagnetic flowmeters. The two electromagnetic coils at the top and lower ends of the electromagnetic flowmeter create a continuous magnetic field, and the conductive medium in the measuring tube is comparable to the conductive metal rod in the Faraday test.
Principle Insertion type electromagnetic flowmeter
Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction serves as the foundation for the operation of the Insertion type electromagnetic flowmeter. The two electromagnetic coils at the top and lower ends of the electromagnetic flowmeter create a continuous magnetic field, and the conductive medium in the measuring tube is comparable to the conductive metal rod in the Faraday test. A conductive material will cause an induced voltage to be produced. The induced voltage produced is measured by two electrodes within the pipe. Through a non-conductive lining (rubber, Teflon, etc.), the measuring pipeline is electromagnetically insulated from the fluid and the measuring electrode.
