Level indicators are used to show the level continuously. The basic idea is that a magnet attached to a float transmits the level to an indicator bar made up of magnetic rollers or flaps without the need for an extra supply voltage. As extra accessories, other magnetic switches and level sensors can be installed. The gauge body is the primary component of Wellkonix glass level gauges, which provide continuous and direct level indication without the need for supply power. It is machined with a liquid channel. Additional components include glasses, mica shields, process connectors, and valve heads. For some applications at extreme temperatures, mica shields are advised. A particular type of pressure sensor used for hydrostatic level measurement in tanks, wells, shafts, and bore holes is the submersible pressure transmitter, also known as a level probe. To do this, the submersible pressure transmitter is placed as near the bottom of the liquid to be monitored as possible and submerged directly in it. The hydrostatic pressure is measured there by the submersible pressure sensor, allowing for a direct determination of the current level—that is, the height of the liquid column above it.
In order to measure a medium, this technology sends out high-frequency sound waves that pass through it and return to the sensor reflected back. The distance between the sensor and the medium’s surface is ascertained by measuring the time it takes for sound waves to bounce back and forth. A digital signal processor subsequently processes this data to provide an accurate level reading. In situations where conventional level measurement methods would not be appropriate—such as corrosive or dangerous conditions or situations where the medium being measured is extremely viscous or prone to foaming—ultrasonic level measurement is frequently utilized.
